Mini-Z Body Compatibility Guide
Wheelbase, offset, and width explained. Know before you buy so the body you want actually fits your chassis.
MR-03 · MA-020 · MX-01
Buying a Mini-Z body without checking compatibility is how you end up with a gorgeous licensed scale body that won’t fit your car. This guide explains the key measurements.
Wheelbase
Wheelbase is the distance between front and rear axles. Mini-Z bodies are designed for specific wheelbase settings. The most common are:
- 90mm — Short wheelbase, sports cars
- 94mm — Mid wheelbase, most common
- 98mm — Long wheelbase, sedans and GT cars
- 102mm — Extended, large sedans
Your chassis has an adjustable wheelbase. Check your manual for the available settings.
Body Width and Offset
Body width is the overall width of the shell. Offset is how far the body sits inward or outward from the chassis centerline. Getting this wrong causes the body to rub on the tires or leave gaps.
Most bodies specify the wheel offset required. Match this to your wheel hex offset.
MR-03 vs MA-020
The MR-03 is rear-wheel drive; the MA-020 is all-wheel drive. They share many body shells but have different motor positions, which affects which bodies look correct on each.
