Why it matters
Alkaline batteries sag under load — you can feel the car slow as voltage drops mid-run. Quality NiMH cells (Eneloop is the standard) deliver more consistent output and are rechargeable. LiPo conversion requires a compatible ESC but gives flat-curve power delivery and longer runtime between charges. Either way, a proper charger with individual cell monitoring pays for itself quickly.
